DEEJAY YOUNG is a singer-songwriter, actor, and performer from Tampa, Florida. He began his career at the age of five in the Gospel-theatrical stage play Daddy Please Don't Leave and has since performed as an independent artist & actor. In 2019, he joined the First National Tour of HAMILTON as a principal standby & later made his Broadway debut as Aaron Burr in the New York company of HAMILTON in Spring of 2024. Young’s additional theatrical credits include performances in Hairspray, RENT, & Ain't Misbehavin'. He was also a featured contestant on Season 24 of the EMMY® winning reality competition series, The Voice on NBC.
His recent albums PRIMITIVE & The Primitive Sessions: Live both reached the Top 10 of the Top R&B Albums Charts on iTunes, & his holiday album An Unplugged Christmas was a top seller on Amazon Music. Young has received four Independent Music Awards and two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs), as well a Tampa Bay Theatre Award & two Broadway World Awards for his regional theatre contributions. He was also recognized as BEST SOUL ACT in Orlando Weekly’s 2024 Readers’ Choice Poll.
